'Alden’ Sperm Whale Sculpture

"Alden" 

A tribute to Alden Spears (1739-1803), a whale-man, fisherman and entrepreneur from Cape Cod, who engraved the first known object of pictorial scrimshaw on a sperm whale panbone, signed and dated 1766.
